Sahara India Pariwar commenced 57th Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament

Sahara India Pariwar is an eminent India based company with diversified interest that include Media and Entertainment, consumer products, Finance, Real Estate, Tourism & Hospitality and Services and Trading. Sahara India Pariwar which has been sponsoring many sports that include boxing, wrestling, archery, shooting, Indian Cricket, Hockey and many more game to uplift them at domestic as well as international level. To uplift cricket, Sahara City homes under the sponsorship of Sahara India Pariwar commenced the 57th annual all India Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament. Earlier this tournament was played in 40-40 format, but 57th tournament was played in T20 format for the first time. The tournament was played in colored clothes by players and with white ball. The tournament featured players of national and international level.

That tournament included eight teams and those were divided into 2 pools with 4 teams in each pool. Teams included in Pool A were Maharashtra Cricket Association, Indian Oil, ONGC and ITC, consequently team included in Pool B were Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, Air India, Sahara India and Indian Post.

According to Subrata Roy Sahara, Chairman of Sahara India, “we are pleased to commence 57th Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament. We believe in taking this tournament to new heights. Sahara India Pariwar adopted Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament in 2006. The match was played at KD Singh baby Stadium and Chowk Stadium with 2 matches on each ground. The first match was commenced at 6:30 am and second was started at 10:00 am on both grounds.

Subrata Roy Sahara said that the reason behind the commencement of Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament Sahara India Pariwar was the development of the game. Sahara India Pariwar with the motive to develop the event as one of the major cricket tournaments of the sub continent has introduced many new addition in the 57th tournament. With the commencement of this 57th Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament, Sahara India Pariwar has helped in the development of the cricket. This way this group has provided the International exposure to the local players from different parts of the nation.

Sahara India Pariwar in order to uplift sports in India has supported the legendary Calcutta Football League, 57th Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament and many other sports at the national, state and district levels. Sahara City Homes Sheesh Mahal Cricket tournament was a great initiative by Sahara India Pariwar to promote sports in India.
