Sahara unveiled the name and logo of its Pune IPL franchise in a glittering ceremony

Sahara India Pariwar is the promoter and patron of sports in India. It is also the owner of Pune IPL franchisee and unveiled the name and logo of the Pune IPL team in a grand ceremony at the S.P. College Ground, Pune. The Sahara Group named its IPL team, 'Sahara Pune Warriors' according to the status and rich culture of the city. The introduction of the logo of the team was observed by a huge gathering of enthusiastic crowd. The 'Sahara Pune Warriors' logo comprises of a spear wielding, attacking cavalry-warrior in the hue of tricolor. The logo was launched in the presence of some of the biggest names from cricket fraternity and Bollywood of India.

On this occasion, 'Saharasri' Subrata Roy Sahara of Sahara India Pariwar, announced four welfare schemes for the people of the Pune. In the rural areas of Pune district, Sahara announced to extend Public Health Services through Mobile Health Unit vans which will have a qualified doctor and will be equipped with primary health equipments and medicines to provide free of cost primary health care to the people. Sahara will provide individual accident cover to the voters of Lok Sabha constituency of Pune. Sahara will provide Rupees One lakh as financial assistance to the nominee from the family of the deceased.

Sahara also announced financial support for the promising sportspersons of Pune District. Under the scheme, sportspersons playing at the state level will be given Rs 5000 per month, Rs. 10000 per month to those playing at the National level and Rs.20, 000 per month to those playing at the International level. Scholarships will be provided by Sahara for the meritorious students of Pune district. Under this scheme, 300 students at the graduation level will be selected who will be given Rs. 750 per month as scholarship. At the post graduation level, 200 students will be selected and each student will be given a monthly scholarship of Rs 1500.

Sahara also helps all the newly wedded couples in starting a new life. Sahara gifts Rs. 1 lakh worth of basic household items to each couple. NCC scholarship by Subrata Roy's Sahara Group

The total amount of scholarship is Rs. 25, 00,000/- per annum, which is awarded to 500 cadets, each Rs. 5,000/-. The criteria of eligibility for award of scholarship is like this that cadets passing 10 + 2 or equivalent examination admitted in professional courses recognized by the Government and UGC viz Engineering, Medical, Business Administration, Hotel Management etc are entitled to get this scholarship.

The Sahara Group of Companies has formulated a scheme for granting annual scholarships to cadets as under: Rs. 5,000/- each for 368 cadets of Junior Division / Junior Wing, Rs. 15,000/- each for 368 cadets of Senior Division / Senior Wing and Rs. 40,000/- each for 66 cadets for higher studies. All cadets are to apply through their respective NCC Unit or Wing. This Scholarship Scheme has been instituted in NCC to award academically bright NCC Cadets. This scheme is funded by a part of the proceeds of the DG NCC Regimental Fund. Suitable advertisements are given by NCC Directorate in local news papers during July each year.
